Why do I want to be a teacher?

Classroom Goals

There are three reasons I want to be a teacher:

1) My faith. I am a Christian, and I love God! It's because of Him that I am who I am today. He loved me in my darkest moments, and ever since then I've wanted to share that same love that He's shared with me to others in anything i do.

2) My love for children. When I was younger my mom had all of my siblings and I volunteer over the summer at the Boys and Girls Club Summer Reading Program. It wasn't an option, we all went as a family. After the first summer, I found myself coming back to volunteer every summer after that for two more years. Since then I've done sports camps for kids, and volunteered at my church to help out with the little ones. Over time, without even noticing it, I started to fall in love with the children I was around everyday, even when they weren't listening to me at all and things got hectic.  I think teaching isn't only about educating young children, but it's also about the relationship you build with them. I have a chance to be a positive influence in my students' life, and I just think this is such a great opportunity to love on them, be their encourager, and show them how fun learning can be, and how it can be an adventure.

3) Past teachers! Everyone has that one teacher that they remember as their FAVORITE teacher! The one that wasn't just a good teacher, but you two also kind of had this friendship going on! I was fortunate to not just have one, but multiple teachers like that in my life, and they too are a part of the reason why I want to be a teacher! They made school AMAZING. They educated me, molded me into the person I am today, and best of all were always there for me.

My goals are pretty simple but take a lot of heart to make them happen! To live a life that is pleasing to God is always the foundation in whatever I do! Next is to finish up my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Family Studies...that's right 2 degrees in 4 years! And of course I would love to get  my Master's in both. The goal is to be a teacher, and eventually work myself up to owning my own Foster Care Home!

To learn and have fun doing it of course! Student's are my number one priority in the classroom! I am here to help parents help their children succeed in every aspect of life, not just school!
